Before & After

What are crowns?

Crowns are needed when a tooth is in need of support, to cover teeth that are discolored or badly shaped, and to cover a dental implant. It can be attached to a bridge and protect a tooth from breaking or to a tooth that is already broken.

Crowns are a treatment that looks natural and are fabricated from a combination of metals. This alloy normally contains precious metals such as gold and palladium. If your preference is to use another form of alloy, the alloy can contain non-precious metals such as nickel and chromium. Crowns are extremely durable and can last for many years. Crowns can also be made of porcelain or with a metal lining with an outer layer of porcelain. Ceramics are the natural looking crowns.

What are bridges?

Bridges are an implant procedure that replaces lost teeth that look and function like natural teeth. Bridges are normally placed when there is only a single missing tooth surrounded by healthy teeth. The teeth between receive a crown that will support the third crown that will replace the missing tooth. The middle crown then is bridged, or fused with the remaining healthy teeth to help form the bridge.

The bridge is designed to fit the formation of your teeth and dyed to match the color of the surrounding teeth. A bridge is permanent and will help bring your smile back to its youthful look and boost your confidence.
